Magic shell recipe | Homemade magic shell

I had this kind of magic shell at many restaurants. That time I never knew how it is made and I used to think that it is not possible to make at home. But I was so wrong. It is very very easy to make at home.

Here I have used semi-sweet chocolate chips. Instead you can use white chocolate to make white chocolate magic shell. Or you can use bittersweet chocolate to make it less sweet.

It is made by melting the chocolate with coconut oil, then poured using spoon on the ice cream or chilled dessert. As soon as you pour it will firm up and hardens like a shell. Hence the name ‘magic shell’.

Magic shell is ready to use. Pour a thin layer of it using spoon over the ice cream, milkshake or any chilled dessert.

Storing: You can store in airtight container at room temperature for couple of weeks. Depending the temperature or climate where you live, it may harden. You can heat it in microwave for few seconds and now it is ready to use again.

I have used double boiler method to melt the chocolate mixture. Alternately you can do the same in microwave too. If doing in microwave you have to be very careful and not to burn the chocolate. Stir and check every 30 seconds until it is smooth and melted completely.

Serving suggestion: My favorite is warm brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream and pour this on top of the ice cream. Out of the world combination. This can be poured over milkshake too.
