This is QUICK, EASY to make HOME STYLE dal fry recipe. This is made in pressure cooker only. No need to sautee onion-tomato separately in another pan.

Home style Dal fry recipe (How to make dal fry, home style)

I have already shared restaurant style dal fry which we both love and I make often. But this one is my go to dal fry when it comes to everyday cooking.

I make this and jeera rice with olive oil instead of ghee. I roast urad papad and make kachumber salad to go with it. Just perfect, healthy meal is ready within 30-45 minutes.

For making this dal, I have used the combination of three different kinds of dal varieties (arhar dal, yellow moong dal and masoor dal). But feel free to use just one or combination of any two as per availability and liking.

Here I have added a touch of yogurt at the end. It makes the dal slightly creamy and adds slight sour taste.

I like especially the nigella seeds in this one.
But personally I vary the ratio mung dal/masoor dal to 1:15 stars
