Walnut burfi recipe

Walnut burfi recipe – The QUICK Indian sweet recipe made with walnuts, coconut and condensed milk.

  • 125 grams or 1 1/4 cups Walnuts
  • 7 oz or ½ cup + 2 tablespoons or ½ can or 200 grams Sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons or 50 grams Desiccated coconut


Preparation and Roasting walnuts:

  • Take walnuts in a pan and dry roast them with stirring constantly on medium low heat. It may take around 7-8 minutes.
  • Once done remove it to a bowl or plate and let them cool.
  • Meantime, grease the plate or container in which your are going to set the burfi and keep it aside.
  • Once cooled down, make coarse powder using grinder with pulsing motion.

Making walnut burfi recipe:

  • In the pan, add sweetened condensed milk. Turn the heat on medium.
  • Add cocoa powder. Mix well. Bring it to a boil.
  • As soon as it starts boiling add dessicated coconut and prepared crushed walnuts. Mix well.
  • Continue cooking with stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes or till it becomes very thick and comes together like a dough. It also leaves the side of the pan.
  • Remove it to grease container.
  • Evenly spread and smooth out the surface.
  • Let it cool down and set completely.
  • Once set, cut into squares using sharp knife.
  • Remove the pieces and serve or store in airtight container.
