Indian Salad Recipe (Kachumber Salad)

Kachumber Salad – Indian salad made with onion, tomato, cucumber and bell pepper. It has crunchy vegetables with refreshing flavors and goes well with any Indian meal.

  • ¼ cup Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Tomato finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Cucumber finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Capsicum (Green bell pepper) finely chopped, optional
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro or coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Lemon juice


  • Chop all the vegetables finely.
  • If the cucumber has tough and thick skin then peel and chop.
  • Toss all the ingredients well in a mixing bowl.
  • Serve kachumber salad right away.


If serving later (means after 1 or 2 hours) then mix all except salt and lemon juice, keep in the fridge covered. Add these two ingredients right before serving.
