For avocado dip recipe:

  • 1 medium Ripe avocado
  • 2-3 teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • Salt to taste

For tempering:

  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • 2 Green chili finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • cup Onion finely chopped
  • a pinch Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala


Making Indian style avocado dip recipe:

  • Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed.
  • To scoop out from the peel: using the knife, cut into pieces.
  • Now use the spoon to remove these avocado pieces.
  • Remove it to a bowl and do the same with another flash.
  • Using the fork, mash the avocado. Do not over mash it otherwise it becomes paste like, keep it chunky.
  • Add salt and lemon juice, mix well. Keep it aside.

Making tadka:

  • Heat the oil in a small pan on medium heat.
  • Once hot add chopped chilies and garlic, saute for 1 minute.
  • Then add onions, sprinkle little salt. Be careful, we also added salt in mashed avocado.
  • Cook till onions get light brown in color and cooked.
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
  • Mix well and saute for a minute. Turn off the stove.
  • Add this onion mixture to prepared avocado.
  • Mix well and it is ready to serve.
