2ozSemi sweet chocolatechopped or ⅓ cup chocolate chips
½teaspoonInstant coffeeor instant espresso powder
1teaspoonPure vanilla extract
For whipped cream:
¼cupheavy whipping cream
1teaspoonWhite granulated sugar
Instructions
Heat the milk in a pan till it comes to a boil.
Take semi-sweet chocolate and instant coffee in a bowl.
Pour boiled, hot milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes. By this time chocolate will get melted.
Meanwhile let’s make the whipped cream. Take heavy whipping cream and sugar in a bowl. Whisk it vigorously using wire whisk till you get soft peaks. Keep it aside.
After 5 minutes add vanilla extract to milk-chocolate mixture.
Now whisk it till everything is mixed well.
To get the frothy hot chocolate, just like cafe style whisk it vigorously you will get froth on top. You will get good arm exercise.
Alternately you can use hand blender and blend it till you get froth on top.
If you prefer it really hot, you can heat up in microwave or stove stop. But for me this was the perfect drinkable temperature.
Pour in the cup. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top and serve.
