🧾 Ingredients For Eggless Cookies

- Butter:
- I recommend using unsalted butter. But if you’re using salted butter then skip the salt in the recipe.
- Please use room-temperature softened butter. Please remove the butter from the fridge a few hours before so it comes to room temperature. Do not microwave it to make it soft.
- Sugar: A combination of white and brown sugar makes the cookies fluffy, moist and chewy.
- Milk: Full-fat whole milk is recommended. But again, use whatever you’ve on hand. This recipe is very forgivable.
- All purpose flour: Make sure to measure it correctly. Fluff up the flour in the container, use the spoon to fill the measuring cup and level the measuring cup and scrape off the excess flour using back of the of a straight knife.
- Salt: added for some flavor as we’re using unsalted butter.
- Baking soda: It is required so cookies don’t come out flat.
- Vanilla: Always use pure vanilla extract and stay away from imitation ones.
- Chocolate chips: Use your favorite brand’s milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
👩🍳 How To Make Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies?
1) Take all purpose flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl and whisk it until mixed. Keep it aside.
2) In another bowl, take softened butter.
3) Beat it using a wire whisk until smooth. If using a stand mixer (with a paddle attachment) or hand mixer then skip beating only butter. Go with the next step straight away beating butter and sugar together.

4) Add white sugar and brown sugar.
5) Beat it until smooth and creamy. (about 2 minutes)
6) Add milk and vanilla.
7) Beat again until mixed.

8) Add dry flour mixture.
9) Again beat until it comes together like a dough. If doing by hand, then use a spatula and not a wire whisk.
10) Add chocolate chips.
11) Fold the chocolate chips into the dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

- Preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 C for at least 10 minutes.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and keep it ready.
12) Make around 1 inch size of balls from the chilled cookie dough. Place on the cookie sheet a few inches apart from each other, because they will spread as bake.
13) Bake them for 10-12 minutes in preheated oven or until the edges look set and light brown in color and the center still looks soft.
14) Let it cool on the sheet for 5 minutes. After that, transfer them to a cooling rack to cool them completely.

💭 Expert Tips
Chill the dough:
- Chilling the cookie dough is so important. Cold dough makes thick, soft, chewy cookies.
- The cookies will spread out and become thin, flat if the cookie dough is not chilled.
- If the dough is TOO cold then cookies will stay tall and mushroom-dome like shape. If you have chilled the dough for around 2-3 hours or overnight then rest the dough on the counter for 10 minutes, then roll the dough balls and bake.
Do not over bake them to keep the eggless cookies gooey and soft from the center.
🍪 Storage Instructions
- At room temperature: Once cools completely, these eggless chocoolate chip cookies can be kept in an airtight container for up to one week.
- Freezing instructions:
- You can freeze the cookie dough for later use.
- Simply make balls from the cookie dough, place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and put them in the freezer.
- Once frozen put them in a ziplock bag or airtight container. Keep them in the freezer.
- Whenever you are ready to bake just place cookie balls on a sheet, then start to preheat the oven and bake as directed (maybe a few more minutes because they are frozen).

Hi,
i dont have an oven.i have a microwave. please give me instructions for the same?
If your microwave has Convection mode or baking mode. Then you can bake.
If yours is just microwave then you cannot.
Hey, thanks i just saw it has convection mode. but it has a maximum limit of 240 degrees. will that work if i keep for a longer period of time?
Please check, That max temperature is 240 degree Celsius.
I have given two different unit measurements 350 degree Fahrenheit or 180 degree Celcius (so it is easy for Indian and US audience both)
You have to preheat to 180 degree C for 10 minutes. Then bake as mentioned in recipe instructions.
I feel so silly. I checked right after I submitted this query that it’s Celsius.
Anyways, my first batch was a total disaster coz they were burnt, even though I followed the recipe as it is. The second batch I put in fr 5 mnts instead of 10, still they were burnt n stuck to the butter paper. Can you put a finger on what went wrong?
I guess you should follow your oven’s user manual for how to operate that.
It is burned in just 5 minutes, meaning you have not anything wrong in the recipe. it is just the oven behaving differently, please check.
FYI, always keep the tray in the center rack of the oven (not bottom or not top) for even cooking
If the cookies burn after only 5 minutes, try lowering the oven temperature to 160°C. If it is very warm where you live, chilling the dough for 2 hours might also help.
Every oven behaves differently; your oven may actually be hotter than 180°C, or there might be one spot that’s very hot while everywhere else is normal. You sometimes have to try a few times to understand how the oven works.
Thank you for your tips and helping others.
I made 6 mini cookies out of ¼ recipe and baked in a toaster oven. Oven was preheated to 350°F, then dropped to around 315°-325°F when the cookies went in to bake (temp is controlled by a dial, so it isn’t precise). The lower temperature gave the dough time to spread and bake more evenly since mini sizes overbake easily. After about 14 minutes, I had tasty cookies that were slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were still pretty good the next day.
I also changed it up for a banana-oat-chocolate-chip version. I used half whole wheat flour and half toasted oat flour, increased the total amount of flour to 1¼ cups, reduced the white sugar by 25%, and replaced the milk with a very ripe, smallish banana (120 g without the peel). The resulting cookies had crispy edges with a cake-like texture in the middle. The crispiness disappeared next day and I was left with soft cookies.
The dough was very soft and sticky before chilling, and was still a bit soft after 2 hours in the refrigerator. I shaped the dough into two batches of mini cookies. The first batch was baked at 325°F and they came out a bit flat. The second batch was chilled for another hour before baking at 350°F, and these came out domed and very cakey.
Note for next time: chill dough until firm enough, form cookies, chill again for 30 minutes, bake at 325°F. (Basically what I did with the original chocolate chip version.)
My current favourite recipe uses eggs and this does not replace it, but this is a great small batch alternative to satisfy a craving. It’s also perfect for my egg-allergic niece.
Thank you so much for detailed review. This will help many others.
Glad to know that recipe was helpful to you and you got success with few alternatives.
