The amount of garlic used here gives the subtle taste of garlic. If you want strong then increase the quantity.

Green garlic is called hara lehsun in Hindi. So this is Hare Lehsun ki dal.

I had some leftover green garlic after making undhiyu few weeks back. I had no idea what to do with it, I asked my mom and she suggested me to make dal recipe.

After tasting this dal, dear hubby wants me to make it very often. So whenever I see fresh garlic in my grocery store, I will definitely buy it to make this again and again.

This garlic is widely available during the winter season.

Thank you Shweta. Green garlic is only available during winter season in Indian grocery stores (PATEL CASH & CARRY) here in NJ. they are right next to green leafy vegetables and green onions section in my nearest store. Just saying because I am not sure but if they have somewhat similar arrangement pattern all over the USA then easy to find for you. 🙂
