Sooji toast recipe - This is also called rava toast. This is EASY to prepare breakfast or snack recipe.
This is the best recipe is to use day old leftover bread. You can use fresh bread as well. Use your choice of bread like white, brown, multigrain or whole wheat.
If making for kids the skip or adjust the green chilies.
Mild and tasty filling with crispy toasted bread is just fantastic with cup or tea or coffee.
Step by Step Photos
1) Take suji, onion, tomato, green chili, cilantro, salt and pepper in a bowl.
2) Mix them well.
3) Add yogurt and mix. It should be thick paste. Keep it aside for 10 minutes to rest then continue
4) Take bread slices and spread some mixture evenly with spoon.
5) On other side, heat the tawa or pan on medium-low heat. Once hot add ½ teaspoon of oil for each bread. Place the bread with filling side down on the tawa. Cook for few minutes or till the mixture get light brown and cooked.
6) Drizzle some oil on top. Then flip the bread and cook other side as well.
7) It should be nicely brown, crispy and toasted. Remember to keep the gas heat on medium low to get the perfect crisp bread.
8) Remove it to a plate and cut into half, serve.
It should be served right away. As it cools it will start to become soft and soggy.
Serving suggestion: Enjoy this suji toast as a breakfast or snack with drizzle of ketchup or green chutney on top.
