    • It’s light, sweet yet full of chocolate flavor.
    • It requires only 5 ingredients.
    • It takes only 30 minutes (from cooking to shaping). Such a lifesaver when you’re busy with decorating and other stuff during this festive season.
    • Kids will sure love it. A nice way to involve them in shaping.
    • Modak is Lord Ganesh’s favorite sweet and it is offered to him during Ganesh Mahotsav. I am sure he must be tired by the traditional modak offerings. This fusion will sure to impress him.

Ganesh Mahotsav starts on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi and lasts for 10 days. So I have shared 10 unique modak recipes to offer to Lord Ganesha each day.

    🧾 Ingredients

Here is the pic of the ingredients required to make chocolate modak. All of them are easy to available.

    Ingredient substitutes:

    • Graham cracker crumbs: Instead you can grind/crush any digestive biscuits or crispy vanilla flavored cookies or oreo cookies (without cream).
    • Chocolate chips: I have used semi-sweet chocolate chips. It is going to melt anyway, so you can use the cooking chocolate bar, chopped up. To make dark chocolate modak, simply use dark chocolate here.
    • Pistachios: I like the combination of chocolate and pistachios. But you can use your choice of other nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc.

💭 Expert Tips For Chocolate Modak

How to get the smooth surface of the modak?
    - The surface of the modak looks uneven because of the chopped nuts in it. Add ground nuts, if you prefer the smooth surface.
    - Also, take a portion, make a smooth, tight ball and then stuff into mould. It also helps in getting a smooth surface.

Storage: It stays good for up to 4-5 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
