❤️ About Mango Banana Smoothie Recipe

  • This smoothie is vegan as coconut milk is used here.
  • It has the perfect tropical flavor good for the summer season.
  • Your whole family will love it – kids as well as grown-ups. I’m sure this will be your new favorite smoothie.
  • Other mango-based smoothies are mango mint smoothie and strawberry mango smoothie.

🧾 Ingredient Notes

  • Mangoes: When mangoes are in season, I would use fresh, ripe and sweet mangoes. I like ataulfo mango variety in terms of flavor. Instead, you can use frozen mangoes as well.
  • Banana: I like to use frozen banana as it gives the best creamy texture with a chilled smoothie. If you don’t have frozen bananas then flash-freeze them. Slice the banana, arrange them on a parchment paper lined tray and freeze for 30 minutes. You can use the same steps for fresh mangoes.
    • Choose the ripe banana, as it adds a natural sweetness and you don’t have to add any additional sweetener.
  • Coconut milk: It adds a tropical flavor and a creamy texture. I prefer to use full-fat coconut milk. But you can use lite as well. Instead, you can use almond milk but never use dairy milk. Cow’s milk (or buffalo’s milk) and banana is the worst food combination as per Ayurveda and it can upset your stomach.
  • Coconut water: Mangoes and banana both fruits that give a super thick texture when blended. So to make a smoothie consistency coconut water is added. If you don’t have it handy then you use regular chilled water.

💭Expert Tips

  • Use chilled or frozen or flash-frozen fruits to get an instantly chilled smoothie.
  • Add some ice cubes to make it chilled if you don’t have chilled or frozen fruits and don’t have time to flash-freeze.
  • Fresh fruit smoothie should be served right away. If your store it then the fruit starts to oxidize and the smoothie lose its flavor and nutritional value.
  • If you like, add some superfoods like hemp hearts, chia seeds, flax seeds. They don’t affect the taste of the smoothie.
