Quick to make: You’ll need just 15 minutes to cook frozen tater tots in air fryer. Plus, 1 minute of prep time. These get ready much quicker than baking in the oven.
Versatile: Keep them plain or add your favorite seasoning, these taste delicious always.
No need for extra oil: That’s right, no need to spray it with oil. Without any extra oil, they still turn out super crispy and crunchy.
🧾Ingredient Notes
You’ll need just one ingredient, a bag of frozen tater tots. You’ll find in the freezer section where all the potato frozen products are kept.
I always prefer Ore-Ida brand frozen tater tots. My second favorite brand is Alexia Potato Puffs. Ore-Ida trademarked the term ‘tater tots’ so other brands labeled it as tater puffs or potato puffs.

💭 Expert Tips
Make sure that tater tots are in a single layer to make them perfectly crispy and even browning. Over-crowned tots make them soft and soggy.
Be sure to shake the basket at least once while they are cooking, so they don’t stick to each other. Also, it allows even browning all around.
No need to preheat the air fryer. I have tried both ways and I find there is no point in preheating the air fryer.
Take the cooking time as a guide and use your judgment. Because different brands of air fryers behave slightly differently, it may vary for 1-2 minutes more or less. So once you know how much time it takes in your air fryer and you go from there.
