This recipe is a hit everyone loved it but there was a big crack on bread can I use jaggery powder instead of brown sugar and how much. Thanks for the recipe.
this is quick bread so the crack on top is normal.
You can use the same amount of jaggery or brown sugar,
I have used the recipe to prepare a loaf for my daughter who is also gluten and corn free and used gram flour. Came out very nicely. Thank you for the wonderful ideas you are posting!
Glad to know Tanya that recipe was helpful to you

Update: I tried this idea of an applesauce sweet chapati out because I was impatient -- it worked really well. I mixed the dough and let it sit a few hours. Instead of rolling in flour I patted it with oil and rolled it easily as thin as I could make it. It even wanted to puff a bit in the pan. I had a warm chapati with a little butter and some jam. I plan to make dough with the rest of the applesauce, divide the dough up, and freeze it.
Oh I see. that is very clever and creative idea. I can never think of it.
I will try it some time in future. Thanks for giving me the update.
I have some applesauce that I'd like to use up, and wondered if anyone had ever made a chapati with applesauce and perhaps cinnamon [a dessert chapati?]. the only thing that came up in my search is your applesauce bread. I think an applesauce chapati might work although it probably won't roll very thin -- and probably I would use a combination of 2/3 whole wheat and 1/3 white flour [and omit baking powder etc] but add oil or possibly ghee.
I wonder what your thoughts are on this. Toby Salt Spring Island, BC
I have never thought of making chapati. not sure how it will work.
