    About This Recipe

This rose lassi is such a tasty twist on the classic lassi. We’ve all tried the basic version with yogurt, sugar, and cardamom. But have you ever added rose syrup to your lassi? It works wonders, I love this drink!

This rose lassi is made up of yogurt, rose syrup, and gulkand (rose petal jam) and it’s garnished with pistachios and dried rose petals.

The addition of rose syrup makes this lassi beautiful looking, pink in color. Everyone will love this eye-catching yet simple and refreshing drink.

❤️ You’ll Love This Rose Lassi

    Taste & Texture:

    • Super refreshing floral flavor of rose
    • Perfectly sweet
    • With a classic tang of lassi from yogurt
    • Deliciously super creamy and thick

Incredibly easy to make: Just add all ingredients into a blender, blend, and serve. It’s super easy, even your 10-year-old can make it.

Quick to make: It takes just 5 minutes to make it.

Make it for a party or get-to-gather: You can easily make a large batch in advance and store it in the fridge. And serve this chilled to your guests. It is perfect for Holi, Diwali, or any Summer-time parties.

    🧾Ingredient Notes

Here is a pic of the ingredients you’ll need to make this rose lassi recipe.

Rose lassi ingredients in bowls with labels.
    • Yogurt:
      • You can use homemade or store-bought yogurt. Make sure to use full-fat whole milk yogurt to get the best creamy texture of lassi.
      • Also, make sure to use chilled yogurt right from the fridge.
      • However, you can use low-fat or fat-free yogurt but sure you’ll notice the texture difference.
    • Milk: It is added to adjust the consistency. You can use chilled water instead.
    • Rose syrup: It is easily available in any Indian or Pakistani grocery store.
      • Alternatively, you can use rooh afza as well.
    • Gulkand (rose petal jam):
      • It adds a unique rose flavor.
      • It is easily available in the Indian grocery store.
      • Make sure to use regular plain gulkand. Do not use paan gulkand which has other ingredients like menthol, and fennel seeds added.
    • For garnishing, pistachios and dried rose petals are used. These are optional.
    • Sugar: You may not need sugar as rose syrup and gulkand both are sweet. If you need then you can add a teaspoon or two as per your liking sweetness.

    💭Expert Tips

    • If serving right away then make sure to use chilled yogurt and chilled milk. Because lassi tastes best when served chilled.
    • Adjust the sugar amount or skip as per your liking sweetness. I have not added it as rose syrup and gulkand are already sweet. Different brand of rose syrup has a different level of sweetness, so you may or may not need sugar.
    • Optional add-in: You can add cardamom powder (seeds of green cardamom are crushed in mortar and pestle). In my opinion, cardamom and rose both are super fragrant and when combined the flavor and aroma clash together. So I avoid adding cardamom to rose lassi recipe.
    • Greek yogurt instead of plain yogurt:
      • Yes, you can use it.
      • But you’ll need to add more milk or water to adjust the consistency as Greek yogurt is thick.
      • Also, the flavor will be different. Trust me. plain yogurt taste much better.

    🥣 Storage Instructions

    • You can make this rose lassi ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
    • Give it a quick stir, pour it into glasses, and serve.
