Mumbai style Chilli Cheese Sandwich recipe - This is stuffed with cheesy mixture and grilled or toasted till crisp. PERFECT and DELICIOUS sandwich that everyone will sure love it. The cheesy mixture is made from of course grated cheese with addition of chilies, capsicum and onion.

    Chilli Cheese Sandwich Recipe

This is the mumbai street food style sandwich. Here the spread of chutney tastes too good with cheesy, gooey, slightly spicy mixture.

Here I have used the grill pan but you can use the sandwich maker with grill attachment or you can toast the sandwich similar to this veg masala toast sandwich.

There is one similar recipe on the blog and it is Chilli cheese toast recipe. That is the open toast works best as a breakfast.

How to make Chilli Cheese Sandwich?

    1) Take half of the cheese (¼ cup of grated cheese) in a bowl.

    2) Add chopped capsicum, onion, green chili and coriander leaves.

veggies and cheese in a bowl

    3) Add salt, pepper and chilli flakes

    4) Mix well and keep it aside.

    adding seasoning to the mixture

    5) Heat the grill pan on medium heat. If using sandwich maker then let it preheat. While it is getting hot, Apply the butter on bread slices.

    6) Then spread the chutney on both slices.

    10) Apply butter on top surface.

    11) Put the buttered side down on the pan and let it grill till it becomes crisp. Also apply butter on top side and flip to grill other side.

    12) Once it gets crisp up from both sides, remove it to a plate and cut it into half.

    grilling the sandwich

Simultaneously assemble the next sandwich and grill.

Serving suggestion: Serve this Mumbai style Chilli cheese sandwich with side of chutney or ketchup as a snack.
